Can we mend what we have broken?
We break so many things.
Remnants are everywhere you look.
We’ve littered the earth with pieces.
A billion broken hearts beat around the world.
A thousand shattered promises litter every floor.
We break in; we break out.
We break up; we break down.
We get more breaks than we deserve.
We’ve broken bad across the earth.
Let’s put on the brakes and slow things down.
Let’s take a break from our destruction.
Some breaks don’t heal or take ages to mend.
Who can cure this chronic calamity?
Who can fix this mess of pieces we’ve made,
Or find the imperfect beauty in the breaks?
