A New Year

A New Year

A blank slate

Many a fresh (albeit tired) face

Numerous days not yet revealed

Many months and weeks remain unpeeled.

This new year is present.

Its future stands bare.

Like confetti and best wishes,

Promise and hope fill the air.

It is a beginning,

A commencement,

Another start.

Embrace and kiss,

Release regrets,

Let the past for memory depart.
